sometimes the absence is so present, sometimes we talk
MISSING {landscape#3}
Collaboration with Circuito Liquen Collective
Depersonalization-derealization disorder happens when you persistently or repeatedly feel that you are observing yourself from outside your body,, or you feel that things around you are not real, or both. (text for the program)
"MISSING {landscape#3} talks about the physical and metaphysical forms of disappearance", as the director said.
Physical, emotional, social disappearance. How is it exposed, how does disappearance exist? What exactly is disappearance (in its myriad forms) in contemporary society?
MISSING {landscape#3} is part of a trilogy of "scenic landscapes" (composed by the pieces TUR and Puto y mexicano) all directed by Saeed Pezeshki. They are "a performative exercise in the construction of a landscape of thought; the ways of disappearing even from oneself and the homecoming granted by memory," according to Pezeshki.
This work is a performative installation (bodies in a space installed as exhibition pieces). The atmosphere is charged and surreal, almost dreamlike, suffocating. Four bodies spread in the space interact with sounds, blows, words, while with their own textual and physical monologues they create individual choreographies of absence, pain, fear and strength.
MISSING... and the other landscapes of the trilogy are "a collective and sensorial experience that builds a map in the geography of affections and identity" of its director and performers.
